Club Statement: Launch of the Sheffield Trinity Academy

Sheffield Trinity FC is proud to announce the launch of a new and exciting chapter in the club’s development with the introduction of the Sheffield Trinity Academy.

After several years of planning and preparation behind the scenes, the 2026–27 season will see the first official Academy side join the club structure, beginning with the formation of our Under 8's team. This marks the first step in a long term strategy to expand our community presence, broaden our football offering, and create inclusive pathways for players of all ages and abilities.

The new Under 8's team will be led by Mark Carlile and Omar Boudabouza, who will oversee the squad’s development and are now welcoming expressions of interest from prospective players and parents.

Iain Atkins said:
“We are delighted to finally launch the Academy and welcome our first junior age group into the Sheffield Trinity family. This project has been in motion for a long time and is something we have aimed to achieve since reaching our five year milestone as a club.

As we approach our 19th season with the adult team, being able to expand the club in this way is incredibly exciting.

This is only the beginning of a wider, long term plan to introduce additional age groups and establish a sustainable club base for the future. We look forward to sharing more details in the coming weeks once the final administrative steps are completed.

I would like to wish Mark and Omar every success as they begin building this team. If you or your children are interested in joining the club, we encourage you to get in touch.”

The club looks forward to welcoming the next generation of players and strengthening our commitment to community football.
